Adana'da, Cumhuriyet’ten sonra ilk adliye Seyhan Kaymakamlık binasının kuzeyindeki Ulus Parkı’nın karşısında bulunan ahşap binada hizmet vermeye başlamıştır.
1915-20 li yıllarda
Adana şehrinin nüfusu 30 bin civarındayken, daha sonra 1940 yıllarında nüfus ve iş ağırlığının artması nedeniyle, şimdiki
adliye binasının arkasında bulunan Lütfiye Akkan İşhanı ile Ceyhan İş Han'nın bulunduğu binalara taşınma zorunluluğu gelmiştir. 1950’li yıllarda
Adana nüfusu 300 bine ulaşmıştır. Hal böyle olunca yeni bir
adliye binası yapılmasının gerektiği gösterilmiştir. Ve 1946 yılında şimdi anıtsal bir yapı olan tarihi
Adliye binasının yapımına başlanmıştır. 1948 yılında o dönemin en ihtişamlı binası olarak bilinen
Adana Adliye Sarayı hizmete sunulmuştur.
Eski adliye binanın kullanımı sürerken, 2003 yılında yeni adliye binası ana bina olarak hizmete sunulmuştur. Bu iki binanın yetersiz kalması sonucu, EK-1 Hizmet binası olarak Reşatbey Mahallesi 5 Ocak Caddesi No: 54 - Seyhan şubesinde hizmet vermeye başlamıştır.
Adana Adliyesine hizmet veren ana bina, tarihi taş bina ve EK-1 hizmet binaları artan iş yükü ve buna bağlı olarak mahkeme ve icra daireleri sayısındaki artışlar nedeniyle yetersiz hale gelince, Sakarya Mahallesi Turhan Cemal Beriker Bulvarı'ndaki 8 kattan oluşan bina kiralanarak 10 Haziran 2013 tarihinde
Adana Adliyesi EK-2 Hizmet Binası olarak hizmet sunmaya başlamıştır. 13 bin 180 metrekare kapalı alana sahip binada, 14 icra müdürlüğü, ticaret, icra ve tüketici mahkemeleri ile Denetimli Serbestlik Müdürlüğü vardır.
Adalet Bakanlığı Strateji Geliştirme Başkanlığı tarafından yaptırılan ve tamamlandığında
Türkiye'nin en büyük 3'üncü adliyesi olacak olan
Adana Adliye Sarayı inşaatı 2015 yılında başlandı ve 1000 iş günü sonra faaliyete geçecek yeni Adalet Binası toplam 58 bin metrekare alana inşa edilecek ve 30 bin metrekaresine bina oturumu, 28 bin metrekaresine ise yol, çevre düzenlemeleri ve peyzaj çalışmaları yapıldı. Türkiye'nin en büyük ve en modern 3'üncü adliyesi olacak
Adana Adalet Binası'nda 209 cumhuriyet savcısı odası, 310 hakim odası, 180 mahkeme, 119 adet çeşitli müdürlük ve idari hizmet amaçlı oda, 325 arşiv ve emanet deposu, 6 yemekhane ve kafeterya ile bebek bakım odası, kuaför, kütüphane, 400 kişilik konferans salonu yer almıştır. Ayrıca bina içinde vatandaşların işlerini kolaylaştırıldı PTT, banka ve tabiplik gibi sosyal ve fiziksel ihtiyaçları karşılayacak birçok donatı da yer almıştır. Bunların yanı sıra hem personelin hem de vatandaşların kullanabileceği bin 132 araç kapasiteli kapalı, 470 araç kapasiteli açık olmak üzere toplam bin 602 araç kapasiteli otoparkı yapılmıştır.
